Determines how often the L2TP driver sends Hello messages. One hello message is sent each time the connection is idle for the time specified in this entry. This time is known as the hello interval.
Hello messages are L2TP control messages send at regular intervals to prevent an active, but quiet, connection from being mistaken for an idle line. They are also known as "keep-alive" messages.
If the value of this entry is 0x0, the system does not send hello messages. As a result, an active connection might be terminated prematurely.
Note
Windows 2000 does not add this entry to the registry. You can add it by editing the registry or by using a program that edits the registry.
