KeysNotToRestore

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\BackupRestore\

The KeysNotToRestore subkey specifies the names of those registry keys that will not be restored by Backup.

Each of the entries has the following format:
<component> REG_MULTI_SZ registry path [registry path]

The paths are relative from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM and can take one of three forms:

A path ending with "\" indicates that the subkey and all of its subkeys and entries will be preserved from the existing registry. These values will not be overwritten by the information in Backup during the restore process.
A path ending with "\*" indicates that the subkey and all of its subkeys and entries will be merged with the existing registry. New entries will be added but existing entries will not be altered.
A path ending with an entry name indicates only that entry.
