Description

The FilesNotToBackup subkey includes entries that specify the files that Backup does not back up.

Each of the entries in this subkey has the following format:
<component> REG_MULTI_SZ path and file name [path and file name]

Unless otherwise indicated, the paths are relative to Systemroot and can have any of several forms:

A path ending with "\" indicates the subkey and its entries only.
A path ending with "\*" indicates the folder and all of its subfolders and files.
A path ending with "\*.*" indicates the folder and all of its subfolders and files.
A path ending with "\* file name extension" indicates only files with the specified extension.
A path ending with /s indicates the directory and all of its subdirectories.
A path ending with a file name indicates only that file.

Change method

To change the value of these entries, use Backup. From the Tools menu, click Options. Click the Exclude Files tab. Use the Add new, Edit, and Remove buttons to select those files not to be backed up.
