Data type | Range | Default value |
---|---|---|
REG_SZ | Domain name | Name of local computer or domain controller |
Specifies the domain used to validate a logon when no domain is specified. This entry applies to networked computers running Windows 2000 Server only.
By default, the system uses the name of the primary domain of the local computer. However, you can add this entry to the registry to override the default value and force the system to use the specified domain.
Note
This entry does not apply to computers running Windows 2000 Workstation or to stand-alone computers. For these, the default domain is always the name of the local computer.
Windows 2000 does not add this entry to the registry. You can add it by editing the registry or by using a program that edits the registry.
