To change the value of this entry, double-click Display in Control Panel. Click the Effects tab, and then check Show transition effects for windows, menus and lists in the Visual effects group box.

Windows 2000 does not add this entry to the registry. You can add it by editing the registry or by using a program that edits the registry.
