HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSMQ\Parameters\MachineCache
Data type | Range | Default value |
---|---|---|
REG_SZ | Computer name | Does not appear in the registry. |
Specifies the server that Message Queuing uses for this client.
By default, this entry does not appear in the registry, and Message Queuing selects a current server randomly from the list of available BSC and PSC servers at the site. By adding this entry to the registry, you direct Message Queuing to use only the server specified by this value. The value of this entry replaces the values of the MQISServer and CurrentMQISServer entries, so that this server is the only one known to the client.
A static server is recommended when one server is clearly preferable to others, such as specifying a local server when other servers are connected by slow network links from a remote location.
Note
This entry is used only when it appears in the registry of a Message Queuing MQIS client.
Windows 2000 does not add this entry to the registry. You can add it by editing the registry or by using a program that edits the registry.
