Description

Store the names of basic files and drivers (mouse, keyboard, Mass Storage, base video and default system services) used when Safe Mode is selected.

Change method

To start Windows 2000 in safe mode, restart the computer and then press F8 when you see the message Please select the operating system to start.

The <file_name or driver_name> subkey is a variable representing the subkeys under the HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SafeBoot\Network subkey. It does not actually appear in the registry. This variable entry displays information which is common to the entries in the Network subkey.
