---|---|---|
REG_DWORD | 0 | 1 | 0 |
Determines whether a copy of a user's roaming profile is saved on this computer when the user logs off.
Roaming profiles reside on a network server. But, by default, when users with roaming profiles log off, the system also saves a copy of their roaming profile on the hard drive of the computer they are using in case the server that stores the roaming profile is unavailable when the user logs on again.
Value | Meaning |
---|---|
0 | A copy of the user's roaming profile is saved on the hard drive of this computer when they log off. |
1 | Any copies of the user's roaming profile on this computer are deleted when the user logs off. The roaming profile still remains on the server that stores it. This setting is designed to conserve disk space on this computer. |
Note
This entry can be superceded by a policy included in Windows 2000. While the Delete cached copies of roaming profiles Group Policy is enabled, the system ignores this entry. The Delete cached copies of roaming profiles setting is stored in the value of DeleteRoamingCache.
Windows 2000 does not add this entry to the registry. You can add it by editing the registry or by using a program that edits the registry.
Tip
For detailed information about particular Group Policy settings, see the Group Policy Reference (Gp.chm) on the Windows 2000 Resource Kit companion CD.
