|Data type||Range||Default value|
|REG_SZ||String||There is no default value for this entry.|
Stores the dynamically-determined site name for the domain in which this member server or workstation is located. The value of this entry is determined by the Net Logon service; it is not specified by an administrator or user.
The value of SiteName always takes precedence over the value of this entry. If SiteName appears in the registry, this value is not used.
Net Logon gets this value from a standard Win32 API call, DsGetDcName, which locates a domain controller in a specified domain. Net Logon calls this function when the computer starts. Other programs can make this call to the Net Logon service.
Windows 2000 does not add this entry to the registry. You can add it by editing the registry or by using a program that edits it.
This entry is used only when it appears in the registry of a member server or workstation.
To change the site in which the computer resides, use SiteName.
Do not change the value of this entry. This entry stores values determined dynamically by Net Logon.
