Determines whether zone data is stored in the Active Directory.
DNS adds this entry to the registry only when the zone is integrated with Active Directory.
| Value | Meaning |
| 0 (The entry does not appear in the registry.) | Zone information is stored in files. |
| 1 | Zone information is stored in Active Directory. Updates are written to Active Directory and replicated from within it. |
To add this entry to the registry, use the DNS console. Right-click the zone name, click Properties, click the General tab, click Change and select the Active Directory Integrated type. Do not change the value of this entry by editing the registry.
DNS reads its registry entries only when it starts. You can change entries while the DNS server is running by using the DNS snap-in. If you change entries by editing the registry, the changes are not effective until you restart the DNS server.
