<Zone-name>

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DNS\Zones\

Description

The DNS\Zones subkey contains a subkey for each of the authoritative zones on the server. These zone subkeys are named for the zone and store settings that apply only to the zone.

The entries listed under <Zone-name> can appear in any subkey under DNS\Zones.

Activation method

DNS reads its registry entries only when it starts. You can change entries while the DNS server is running by using the DNS console. If you change entries by editing the registry, the changes are not effective until you restart the DNS server.

Note Image Note

The <Zone-name> subkey is a variable representing the zone subkeys in the HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DNS\Zones subkey. It doesn't actually appear in the registry. This variable subkey displays the entries that can appear in any of the Zones subkeys. The entries that actually appear in your registry depend upon the configuration of the zone.
