HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\<service-name>\
The Performance subkey contains entries for the performance counter dynamic-link library (DLL) for the service. These values are used by the performance library to collect data for the performance counters that monitor the service. These entries are maintained by the system and should not be changed.
To make changes to entries in this subkey effective, restart the Remote Registry Service or restart Windows 2000.
Tip
If particular performance counters do not appear in your performance monitoring tool, check the Application Log in Event Viewer for events recorded by Perflib. When Perflib detects disabling errors in a counter DLL, it records an event in the log and sets the value of DisablePerformanceCounters to 1 to disable the counters.
Caution
Do not change the values of entries in the Performance subkey. Changing these values can interfere with the operation of the service's performance counters.
