On the Advanced tab, under General (in the list
of views on the left side of the screen), click
Servers.
In the list of monitored servers, click the server whose
provider you want to poll. (You can also press the CTRL key and
click to select multiple servers.)
Right-click the selected servers, point to Collect Data
From, and then click Server.
To verify that polling has occurred, do the following:
Press the F5 key to refresh the information in the
Servers view.
In the ProviderState column (in the Servers
view), look for any of the following states: Queued
(Manual), Queued, or Running. If you do not see
these states, press F5 periodically. The
ProviderState column should transition through these states,
then to Idle.
To verify that the update succeeded, under General (in
the list of views on the left side of the screen), click
Ultrasound updates.
Set the Date filter to Current.
Click the UpdateName column to sort the rows by update
name.
Locate the rows that correspond to the servers whose providers
you polled manually and verify that the Successful cells for
those servers contains a 1.
Depending on the amount of data collected and how busy the
controller and database are, there might be a delay between the
time when the provider state is Idle and the time when the update
is actually completed.
