Troubleshooting Tweaks - Disable Automatic Restart in the event of a BSOD

If this setting is enabled, a user has full access to all drives on the system and can copy files from the hard drive to the floppy disk when using the Recovery Console.

To change this, follow the next steps:

  1. To open the Registry Editor click on the Start button on your taskbar, then click on Run and type "regedit" and click on OK to start the regedit utility.

  2. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\CrashControl (see picture 1).

  3. Create a new DWORD value, or modify the existing value, called "AutoReboot" and set it according to the value data above.

  4. The modifications you made will be in effect after you reboot your PC.
