This setting usually has a default value of 3. This results in up to a 90 second delay between retransmissions on some networks. Set this value to 1 causes only a 18 second retransmission delay.

This entry determines how many times a response to a TCP connection request is retransmitted. The initial delay between connection attempts is 3 seconds and is doubled after each attempt. The valid range is 0-0xFFFFFFFF.

To change the TCP/IP Connection Retry, follow the next steps:

1. Open the Registry Editor click on the Start button on your taskbar, then click on Run and type "regedit" and click on OK to start the regedit utility.
    
2. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\TcpMaxCon (see picture 1).

3. Create a new DWORD value "nectResponseRetransmissions" and give it the value "1".
    
4. The modifications you made will be in effect after you logout or reboot your PC.
