Internet Explorer Tweaks - Stop websites from making it your Homepage

I was playing around with Internet Explorer one day and I found out that you can override any homepage setting in Internet Options. If you have Spyware, or come across it frequently, then this is a very good tweak for you.

  1. Right-click on the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop and select "Properties".

  2. Now in the "Target" box you will see "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE".

  3. Now by adding the URL of the site to the end of this it overrides any Homepage setting in internet options:

    "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" windowsxp.homedns.org

  4. This will stopping websites making your default homepage automatically.
