To send a message to one or more sessions

Using the Windows interface

  1. Open Services for UNIX Administration.
  2. If necessary, connect to the remote computer you want to manage.
  3. Click Telnet Server.
  4. Click the Sessions tab.
  5. In the Message box at the bottom of the screen, type your message, and then do one of the following:
    • To send the message only to selected sessions, click the sessions to which you want to send the message, and then click Send.
    • To send the message to all sessions, click Send To All.

Using a command line

Argument Description
computer The name of the remote computer you want to manage. You must be logged on as a member of the Administrators group on the remote computer to run this command.
{sessionId | all} Type the session ID for a specific session, or type all to send the message to all sessions.
message The text of the message.
