1. Open Add/Remove Programs or Add or Remove Programs.
2. Click Microsoft Windows Services for UNIX.
3. In Windows NT, click Add/Remove; in Windows 2000 or Windows XP, click Change.
4. Click Next.
5. Click Add or remove, and then click Next.
6. In the Components pane, click the plus sign (+) next to Utilities.
7. Click Base Utilities, click Will be installed on local hard drive, and then click Next.
8. Follow the remaining instructions in the Wizard.

Notes

• To open Add/Remove Programs or Add or Remove Programs, do one of the following:
  • In Windows NT or Windows 2000, click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  • In Windows XP, click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add or Remove Programs.
• Cron service is installed as part of the Base Utilities, which also installs the Interix Subsystem.

• At a command prompt, type:

  msiexec /I sfusetup.msi /qb addlocal="BaseUtils"

Notes

• For this command to work, the file sfusetup.msi must exist in the directory from which you run the command. If sfusetup.msi is in a different directory, include the full path.
• Cron service is installed as part of the Base Utilities, which also installs the Interix subsystem.
