To change a user's ID (UID)

  1. Open Active Directory Users and Computers.
  2. In the console tree, click the Users folder.
  3. In the details pane, right-click the user you want to administer, and then click Properties.
  4. Click the UNIX Attributes tab.
  5. In the UID box, type the new user identifier (UID) for the user.
  6. To save the changes and keep the dialog box open, click Apply. To save the changes and close the dialog box, click OK.
