To use ypmatch to view an entry in an NIS map

Argument | Description |
---|---|
A domain other than the default domain. | |
HostName | The name of the Network Information Service (NIS) server to which you want to send the request. |
-t | Inhibits translation of nickname to map name. |
-k | Prints a key followed by a colon before printing the value of the key. This is useful only if your keys do not have duplicate values, and you do not have an unreasonable number of keys to clutter the output. |
Key | The key for which you want to print the value. |
The name or the nickname of a map. | |
-x | Lists the nicknames as specified by the MapName parameter. |
