Ensure consistent permissions
If you enable full control for users on a shared network file
system (NFS) directory, ensure that the NFS server is sharing the
directory with read/write permissions. The effective permissions
available to the user are whichever permissions are more
restrictive, the permissions granted by the shared directory on the
Gateway for NFS server, or the permissions of the shared directory
on the NFS server.
Allow users to disconnect before stopping the
service
Before you stop Gateway for NFS or uninstall it, notify users who
are connected to shared directories that you are about to stop the
service. You can then stop the service after the users have had the
opportunity to close open files and disconnect from shared
directories.
