xlsclients - list client applications running on a display

SYNOPSIS

xlsclients [-a] [-display displayname] [-l] [-m maxcmdlen]

DESCRIPTION

The xlsclients(1) utility lists information about the client applications running on a display. It can be used to generate scripts representing a snapshot of the the user's current session.

OPTIONS

-a: List clients on all screens. By default, only those clients on the default screen are listed.
-display displayname: Use specified X server.
-l: Display long listing, showing the window name, icon name, and class hints in addition to the computer name and command string shown in the default listing.
-m maxcmdlen: Set to maxcmdlen the maximum number of characters in a command that will be printed out. The default is 10000.

ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES

DISPLAY: Contains the default host, display number, and screen.
