To set performance options

Using the Windows interface

  1. Open Services for UNIX Administration.
  2. If necessary, connect to the computer you want to manage.
  3. Click Client for NFS, and then click the Performance tab.
  4. Set the performance options, and then click Apply to save the settings.

Using a command line

Argument Description
computerName The name of the computer you want to manage.
config rsize=n The size of the read buffer, in kilobytes. This value must be 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, or 32; the default is 32
config wsize=n The size of the write buffer, in kilobytes. This value must be 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, or 32; the default is 32.
config timeout=n The number of seconds to wait for a connection. This value must be 0.8, 0.9, or an integer in the range 1–60; the default is 0.8.
config retry=n The number of times to try to make a connection for a soft mount. This value must be in the range 1–10; the default is 1.
config preferTCP={yes | no} The preferred protocol to use. Set to yes to use Transmission Control Protocol (TCP); set to no to use User Datagram Protocol (UDP).
config mtype={hard | soft} The type of mount.
config perf=default Reset performance parameters to default values.
