Inventory Overview is designed to be fast and easy to use, with flexible sorting, grouping, and filtering functionality.

 

Sorting

 

To set the sort order for the data grid:

 

1. Click the column header for the column you want to sort.
2. You will now see a small triangle at the right side of the columns header, either pointing up or down. The column is sorted in ascending order if the triangle is pointing upwards, and in descending order if the triangle is pointing downwards.

 

To use multi-level sorting:

 

1. Click the column header of the first column (with will be the top level), click again to change sort order.
2. Hold the SHIFT key down while clicking column header of the second column
3. Repeat the second step as many times as wanted.

 

To remove columns from sorting:

 

· Hold the CONTROL key down while clicking the column header of the column you want to remove from the sort selection.

or

· Click the column header of  one of the columns to remove the whole sort selection and set this column as the sort column.

 

 

Grouping

 

To show (or hide) the group header:

 

1. Right-click one of the column headers
2. Choose Group | Group Header from the menu
3. The group header is displayed above the grid.

 

To group by a column:

 

1. Right-click at the column header of the column you want to group by.
2. Choose Group | Group by Column from the menu
3. The chosen column is now added to the group header, and the data grid is displayed in grouped mode.

 

To add a column to the group header:

· Drag the wanted grid column and drop in onto the group header

 

To remove grouping:

 

1. Right-click one of the column headers
2. Choose Group | Ungroup from the menu
3. The grouping is removed and the group header is hidden.

 

 

Sizing Columns

 

To Auto Size Columns:

 

1. Choose Auto Size Columns from the Data menu
2. The grid control will now resize the columns automatically.

 

To Apply Best Fit:

1. Choose Apply Best Fit from the Data menu
2. The grid control will now resize the columns automatically.

 

 

Filters

 

There are two types of filters: Quick Filters and standard filter using the Filter Manager.

 

To use Quick Filters:

 

1. Choose Quick Filters from the Data menu
2. A small dropdown list is now available for each column.

3. For the dropdown list you can choose to display all values in column, a particular value, or create a custom quick filter:

To use standard filters:

 

1. Click the Filters toolbar button to open the Filter Manager.
2. The Filter Manager dialog box is now displayed and you can select the columns you want to display in the grid, and you can choose to compose a query to filter information.
