Introducing Quest Reporter : Appendix A: Configuring Quest Reporter : Setting Up Your Databases

Setting Up Your Databases
The Database Setup Wizard guides you through the process of selecting and (if required) creating the databases used by Reporter.
You can use one of the following security credentials when setting up the databases:
The user is a member of the Administrators group on the workstation and is added to SQL Server with permissions to create a database.
The user is a member of any group on the workstation and is added to SQL Server with permissions to create a database.
Reporter uses one database for live and stored data collections.
To create your databases
1.
Select Start | All Programs | Quest Software | Quest Management Suite | Reporter | Database Setup.
If you restart your computer with SQL Server installed, the Database Setup Wizard does not initially list your computer as a database option. There is a delay before SQL Server is recognized by the Browser Service. Type the name of the computer in the Computer box to avoid a time lapse.
