Setting How Often Active Monitors are
Polled
By default, active monitors are polled based on
the time interval established in for each device. If you want an
active monitor to be polled more or less frequently than the
device's other active monitors, you can change the polling interval
exclusively for that monitor.
To change the poll interval for a
single device:
- Double-click on the device you want to
modify. Device Properties for that device appears.
- Click Passive Monitors to view that section
of Device Properties.
- Select the active monitor you want to
modify.
- Click to view the Active Monitor Properties
for that monitor.
- Click Polling to view that section of the
monitor properties.
- Click to view Active Monitors Advanced
Properties.
- Select to activate
the box.
- Enter the poll frequency (in seconds) you
want for that monitor.
- Click to save the changes.
To change the poll interval for
multiple devices:
- Select the devices and device groups you
want to modify.
- Right-click on one of the selected devices
and select from the right-mouse menu.
- On the Bulk Field Change: Active Monitor
Properties dialog, select the active monitor type from the
pull-down menu. This list is populated by all
active monitors found on the selected devices. Some devices may not
have all of the monitors in this list.
- In the drop-down, select Yes to
activate the box.
- Enter the poll frequency (in seconds) you
want for that monitor on those devices.
- Click to save the changes.
: If a selected device does not
currently have the active monitor associated to it, no
modifications will be made to that device. Only devices that have
the active monitor will be changed.
