Device dependencies are used to poll a device depending on the state of another device. For example, you may want to configure WhatsUp Gold to poll devices on one side of a router only if the router is up.
Check only if the following device is up. If a device is selected from this list, WhatsUp will only poll the current device if the device selected in the list is up. This is referred to as an Up Dependency. To remove an up dependency, select (None).
Check only if the following device is down. If a device is selected in this list, WhatsUp will only poll the current device if the device selected in the list is down. This is referred to as a Down Dependency.
To remove a down dependency, select (None).
