Restoring BMR clients using network boot

Note:

If NetBackup access management is used in your environment, you must provide the appropriate credentials when prompted so that NetBackup can restore the client files.

Use these procedures for a standard restore (also known as a self restore, which is a restore to the same system and disks).

Before you do a standard restore, you must run the prepare to restore operation using the current, saved configuration.

See Preparing to restore a client.

In a network boot, the BMR client boots from the shared resource tree on the BMR boot server.

How you restore a machine over the network depends on its manufacturer and model.

See Restoring AIX with network boot.

See Restoring Solaris with network boot.

See Restoring HP-UX with network boot.

See Restoring Linux with network boot.

See Restoring Windows with network boot.

Other information about restoring clients is available.
