Specifying the server, client, and the policy type for a SharePoint Server restore operation

To browse for and restore SharePoint backups, specify the following items:

To specify the server, client, and policy type for a SharePoint Server restore operation

  1. Log onto the server as Administrator.

  2. Open the Backup, Archive, and Restore interface.

  3. Click File > Specify NetBackup Machines and Policy Type.

  4. In the Specify NetBackup Machines and Policy Type dialog box, from the Server to use for backups and restores list, select the NetBackup server that performed the backup.

  5. From the Source client for restores list, select the client.

    The source client is the SharePoint Server computer name whose backup images you want to browse.

  6. From the Policy type for restores list, choose MS-SharePoint.

  7. Click OK.
