Specifying the private name of the client for a SQL Server in a cluster with a multi-NIC

This topic describes how to specify the private name of the client when you want to configure backups of a client. Configuration is done in a multi-NIC environment where SQL Server is clustered.

To specify the private name of the client for a SQL Server in a cluster with a multi-NIC

  1. Open the Backup, Archive, and Restore interface.

  2. Select File > NetBackup Client Properties.

  3. Click the General tab.

  4. In the Client name box, specify the private name of the client.

    For example, the private name for the machine SQLHOST1 would be SQLHOST1-NB. The private name for the machine SQLHOST2 would be SQLHOST2-NB.
