Specifying
the private name of the client for a SQL Server in a cluster with a

This topic describes how
to specify the private name of the client when you want to
configure backups of a client. Configuration is done in a multi-NIC
environment where SQL Server is clustered.
To specify the private name of the client for a
SQL Server in a cluster with a multi-NIC

Open the Backup, Archive,
and Restore interface.

Select File >
.

Click the General
tab.

In the Client name box,
specify the private name of the client.
For example, the private
name for the machine SQLHOST1 would be SQLHOST1-NB. The private
name for the machine SQLHOST2 would be SQLHOST2-NB.
