Specifying the server, client, and the policy type for a Exchange Server restore operation

To browse for and restore Exchange backups, specify the following items:

You also can choose the destination client to which you want to restore a backup. (This type of operation is called redirecting a restore to a different client.) To redirect a restore in this way, you must have NetBackup server privileges or be logged into a server with the NetBackup Administration Console or the NetBackup Remote Administration Console.

It may not be possible to restore an Exchange database from a NetBackup client-only installation on a cluster. You may not be able to change the destination client value to match the virtual server name. In that case, use the Backup, Archive, and Restore interface on a NetBackup server. From the server you can change the destination client value to the virtual server name.

To specify the server, client, and policy type for a Exchange Server restore operation

  1. Log onto the server as Administrator.

  2. Open the Backup, Archive, and Restore interface.

  3. Click File > Specify NetBackup Machines and Policy Type.
