Setting the debug level on a Windows client

To control the amount of information that is written to the debug logs, change the "General" debug level. Typically, the default value of 0 is sufficient. However, technical support may ask you to set the value higher to analyze a problem.

The debug logs are located in install_path\NetBackup\logs.

To set the debug level on a Windows client

  1. From the Windows Start menu, choose Programs > Symantec NetBackup > Backup, Archive, and Restore.

  2. Select File > NetBackup Client Properties.

  3. Click the Troubleshooting tab.

  4. Set the General debug level.

  5. Click OK to save your changes.
