View Status dialog box

This dialog box lets you view the progress of user-directed backups, archives, and restores on the client.

Description

Operation Type

Shows the type of operation (back up, archive, or restore).

Time Requested

Shows the start date and time of the operation. The format of the start date and time is based on the client operating system date and time configuration.

Operation Status

Shows the status of the operation. If the backup image is stored on more than one media ID, all media IDs are listed.

Close

Click to close the dialog box.

Delete

Click to delete the progress report for the selected operation.

Refresh Rate (seconds)

Determines how often NetBackup updates the progress of the selected operation. The rate can be set at any time during a NetBackup operation. The rate can be set from 0 - 60 seconds.

A rate of 0 turns off the automatic refresh feature.

The default rate is 5 seconds.

The recommended rate is 10 seconds.

Verbose

Click to view a more detailed progress report for the selected operation.

Refresh

Click to update the status display for the selected operation.

This option is available only when an operation is selected.

Print

Click to open a Microsoft Windows print dialog box and print the progress report for the selected operation.

Progress

Shows the progress of the selected operation.

If the Refresh Rate is set to 0 (no automatic refresh), click Refresh to view the progress of the selected operation.

Select Verbose for a more detailed progress report.

Each progress message begins with the time of the related event. The following codes indicate the nature of the message:

  • DAT

    Helpful messages for the debug process

  • ERR

    Error message

  • FTL

    Fatal error message

  • INF

    Informational message (no error occurred)

  • TRV

    Trivial error message

  • WRN

    Warning error message

If the drive where the NetBackup client software is installed is full, the only progress messages that appear are as follows:

  • Messages that indicate the job was initiated or is complete.
