Starting the NetBackup Client Job Tracker

Use the following procedure to start and run the NetBackup Client Job Tracker.

To start the NetBackup Client Job Tracker

  1. On the Windows Start menu, click Programs > Symantec NetBackup > NetBackup Client Job Tracker.

    The NetBackup Client icon appears in the system tray (the lower-right corner of the Windows desktop).

  2. In the system tray, right-click the NetBackup Client icon.

  3. Click Details.

    If the Details option is not available (gray), no backups or restores have occurred since the job tracker started.

    The following details are displayed for each job:

    Job ID

    Shows the NetBackup Job ID.

    Server

    Shows the name of the server where the file was backed up.

    Job Type

    Shows the type of operation for the selected job: back up, archive, or restore.

    Status

    Shows the progress of the selected operation.

    Start Time

    Shows the time the operation started.

    End Time

    Shows the time the operation stopped.

    Current Name

    Shows the name of the file for the currently active backup , archive, or restore.

    Current Size

    Shows the size (in bytes) of the file for the currently active backup , archive, or restore.

    Actual

    Shows the status of the operation as it pertains to the following details:

    • Files

      Shows the number of files currently backed up, archived, or restored.

    • Folders

      Shows the number of folders that were backed up. A folder is counted each time a file or a subfolder that was contained in the folder is backed up.

    • KBytes Data

      Shows the amount of data (in kilobytes) that is currently backed up, archived, or restored. This amount is rounded to the nearest whole number. If the amount of data is less than 500 bytes, the number can be 0.

    • KBytes Image

      Shows the current size (in kilobytes) of the image that is backed up or archived.

    • KBytes/Sec

      Shows the rate of the operation in kilobytes per second.

    Estimated

    Shows an estimate of the finished operation as it pertains to the following details:

    • Files

      Shows the total number of files to process.

    • Folders

      Displays the number of folders in the process of backup . A folder is counted each time a file or subfolder that is contained in the folder is backed up.

    • KBytes Data

      Shows the total amount of data (in kilobytes) to be processed. This amount is rounded to the nearest whole number. If the amount of data is less than 500 bytes, the number can be 0.

    OK

    Closes the dialog box.
