A progress log file contains the details of user-directed backups, archives, and restores.

Progress log files are written to a text file in the following directory on the client:

install_path\NetBackup\logs\user_ops\loginID\logs

The details in a progress log file also appear in the View Status dialog box while the operation is in progress.

By default, progress log files are retained for 3 days.

The progress log retention period can be changed on the General tab of the NetBackup Client Properties dialog box.
