NetBackup includes open file backups functionality for Microsoft Windows systems, which is used to back up open and active files.

If the open file backups functionality is disabled, open files cannot be backed up. You must close all open files and exit all applications on the NetBackup client before you initiate a server-directed backup. You must also exit the applications before the scheduled backup window for your system begins.

Only the NetBackup administrator can enable and configure Windows open file backups functionality.
