About server-directed backups and archives

A backup policy on the NetBackup master server initiates server-directed backups. The NetBackup Administrator creates and configures the policy to perform scheduled backups at a specific time interval. The policy also indicates the files, directories (folders), and the drives or partitions that are included in the backup. When properly scheduled, server-directed backups meet most backup requirements.
