User-directed backups and archives are initiated by using the Backup, Archive, and Restore interface.

You can select a combination of files, directories (folders) with files, and entire volumes or drives to back up.

User-directed backups can be performed during the time period that is scheduled in the policy by the NetBackup Administrator.
