Catalog Disaster Recovery Method wizard screen

Use the Catalog Disaster Recovery Method screen to select where each image file is to be saved: to disk, tape, or to both. The image file contains the disaster recovery information.

Note:

Symantec recommends that you save the image file to a network share or a removable device. Do not save the disaster recovery information to the local system.

Each catalog backup results in a new file in the designated volume.

When disk is indicated as a location, the following disk information is required:

Path to the disk

For UNIX master servers, specify a local directory or NFS share. For Windows master servers, specify a local directory or UNC path (CIFS Windows share).

Logon information is used

To access the NFS share for UNIX master servers.

To access the Windows share for Windows master servers.

If the logon information is not valid, NetBackup returns a message. The message requests that the user reenter the logon and password information or clear the alternate location option to continue.

Logon and password fields are enabled in the following cases:

Tape Information includes media ID and density of tape.

Each catalog backup overwrites the previous disaster recovery file on the media.
