This wizard is effective only in the following situations:

• The NetBackup environment must use policy-based online, hot catalog backups.

  See NetBackup Troubleshooting Guide for UNIX and Windows.

• The administrator must log on to the machine locally to recover the catalog. The Catalog Recovery Wizard does not work after a change server operation is performed.

• The administrator must have root privileges (on UNIX) or administrator privileges (on Windows) to perform a catalog recovery.

• Do not run this wizard unless you must recover from a disaster that requires that the master server software is reinstalled.

Before this wizard is run, complete the following tasks:

• Rebuild the hardware environment.

• Obtain any vaulted tapes containing catalog and client backups necessary to rebuild site.

• Install the operating system.

• Install NetBackup master server and Enterprise Media Manager server software.

• Configure the devices for catalog backup media.
