Add or change snapshot resource

For some disk array snapshot methods, you must identify the array serial number, the primary (or source) disk that contains the client data, and the corresponding mirror device (or clone) on which to create the snapshot.

For other disk array methods, NetBackup can obtain this information automatically, and the Snapshot Resources area is grayed out.

Array serial #

The serial number (enclosure number) of the array.

Contact your array administrator to obtain the disk array serial numbers and designators (unique IDs) for the array.

Source Device

The unique ID for the snapshot resource or source LUN containing the primary data.

Snapshot Device(s)

The unique ID for the target device(s) or target LUNs where the mirror, clone, or snapshot is created. You can separate multiple entries with semicolons.

Further assistance is available.

See the disk arrays chapter of the NetBackup Snapshot Client Administrator's Guide.
