A PureDisk disk type storage unit is used to store data for the following deduplication options:

• NetBackup integrated deduplication.

  NetBackup deduplication must be configured.

• PureDisk deduplication (PureDisk 6.6 and later).

  The PureDisk environment must be configured and operational.

  See the NetBackup Deduplication Guide.

• PureDisk Deduplication Option (PDDO) (PureDisk 6.5 and later).

  PureDisk Deduplication Option (PDDO) must be configured.

  See the NetBackup PureDisk Deduplication Option Guide.

  Note:

  PDDO storage units cannot be used as part of a storage unit group.
