You can delete volumes
from the NetBackup configuration. You cannot delete a volume if it
is still assigned.
For example, if any of the following situations
apply, you may want to delete the volume:
-
A volume is no longer used and you want to recycle
it by relabeling it with a different media ID.
-
A volume is unusable because of repeated media
errors.
-
A volume is past its expiration date or has too
many mounts, and you want to replace it with a new volume.
-
A volume is lost and you want to remove it from
the EMM database.
After a volume is
deleted, you can discard it or add it back under the same or a
different media ID.
Before you delete and
reuse or discard a volume, ensure that it does not have any
important data. You cannot delete NetBackup volumes if they are
assigned.
