Policies Action menu

The following table lists the actions available on the Policies Actions menu:

New

Displays a dialog box to create and configure a new policy, a new schedule, a new client, or a new backup selection.

Copy to new policy

Copies, then displays the properties of a selected policy. The Copy to new policy option is one method to create a new policy. Change the properties as necessary for the new policy.

Activate

Activates the policy currently selected in the console tree. A policy must be active for NetBackup to run automatic backups or allow user backups or archives. This setting has no effect on restores.

If the schedule is to be used for a catalog archive, the policy must not be active. The Active check box must be clear.

Deactivate

Deactivates the selected policy.

Manual backup

Displays the Manual Backup dialog box when a policy is selected in the Console tree. Select a schedule and client in the Manual Backup dialog box then click OK to start a manual backup.

Host properties

Displays the client properties for the selected host when a client is selected in the Details pane.
