Deploy Agent for Windows Dialog Box

Deploys the default Agent for Windows to a computer.

You must have administrator rights on the computer to which you want to deploy the agent.

Reboot the computer....

The computer must reboot for the agent to finish installing.

If you leave this box unchecked, the agent finishes the installation process after the computer is rebooted manually.

After the computer reboots, the computer is added to the Configuration Database of the Symantec LiveState Configuration Server to which you are connected, The computer is listed in the Command Center, if it has not been added manually. In the computer's Boot and Security properties, the May be reset checkbox is unchecked.

 

Note: If you check this Reboot.. box, but leave the Try to discover... box unchecked, the default Agent for Windows package is listed under the computer.

 

Try to discover the software that is installed...

Determines what software is installed on the computer, based on a predefined list of packages.   

To use this feature, you must meet several prerequisites.

Packages that correspond to the operating system and applications are listed as installed jobs on the computer. The specific Agent for Windows package, rather than the default package, is also listed.
