Adding a Master Server to a Replication Tree

A Master Server is the root server of a Replication Tree. Since there can be multiple Replication Trees, there can be multiple Master Servers.  

The Master Server cannot be the target of cascading job.

Note: If you want to use the Replication Administration Server as a Master Server, just create the Replication Tree from the Replication Administration Server.

To add a Master Server to the Replication Tree

1. Select and right-click Replication Administration and choose Add Replication Master Server.

2. In the Add Replication Server dialog box type the Server Name, User Name, and Password for the server.

3. Click OK.

The server is added to the Replication Tree.  Now add child servers to the Master Server.
