Partitioning and Formatting Disks

By default, a computer's disk must be partitioned and formatted before you can assign an operating system to it.  

The partition size you set must be compatible with the Pre-OS Agent you intend to install.

You can partition and format any FAT file system. NTFS computers will be converted to FAT file system during the partitioning process. Later, you can convert the file system back to NTFS.

Cooperative Mode Computers

For Cooperative Mode computers, you inform Symantec LiveState Delivery about the existing partitioning and formatting on the computer.

Adding and Deleting Disks

You can add up to four disks on each computer.

After you partitioned and formatted your computers, you can delete a format job from either a Symantec LiveState Delivery partitioned or Fdisk partitioned computer.
