Find Computers Based on Specific Group Membership

You can search for computers that belong to selected computer groups.  For example, you can find those computers that are members of all of the selected groups, or find computers that do not belong to any of the selected groups.

To find computers based on specific group membership

  1. In the Scope pane, click Computers to display the computer groups in the Result pane.

  2. Select the computer groups in which you want to find computers.

  3. Right-click one of the groups and select Find Computers. The Find Computers: Specific Group Membership dialog box appears.

  1. Select a search option.

  2. All of the selected groups searches for computers that belong to all of the groups you selected.

  3. Any of the selected groups searches for computers that belong to at least one of the selected groups.

  4. Not all of the selected groups searches for computers that do not belong to all of the selected groups. These computers belong to some of the groups or to none of the groups.

  5. None of the selected groups searches for computers that do not belong to any of the selected groups.

  6. Click OK. A new windows appears with the search results in a temporary group. You can create a permanent computer group from the search results.
