Adding Computers

Using Command Center, there are two options for adding computers to the Configuration Server:

Finding Unmanaged Computers

You can find computers that do not have the Agent for Windows installed, and deploy the agent to them. When the agent runs, it adds the computer Configuration Server as Cooperative Mode computers.

Manually Adding Computers

When you manually add computers to the Configuration Server, you can add them as Consistent or Cooperative Mode computers.

Before you can manually add a computer to the Symantec LiveState Delivery system, there are tasks you must do first.  See Preparing Managed Computers for detailed information.

You can specify default values for many of the fields in the dialog boxes that you fill out when you manually add computers to a server. This is useful if you are adding many computers with similar characteristics.

After a computer is added to the Configuration Database, you can partition and format it and deploy an operating system and Agent package to it.
