Post-Image Configuration Package Parameters

The following table lists the Post-Image Configuration package parameters that must be set when the package is assigned to a computer.

Parameter

Description

Choose Sysprep.INF file

Sets the .ini file that is built using the parameters supplied. Sysprep.inf must be in the following location:

//config/sw/%SWID%/inf/

where %SWID% is the package ID. The package ID is different for each language.

User Name

The Windows user name to which the computer is registered.

Organization

The Windows company name to which the computer is registered.

License Key

The Windows license key for the computer’s operating system.

Join Domain

This parameter can be set to one of the following options:

  •  Yes a domain: Joins the computer to a domain

If this option is selected then associated options are displayed

  • No domain: Does not join the computer to a domain

Domain Name

The name of the domain to which the computer is to be joined.

This parameter is displayed only if the option to join a domain is selected.

Domain Admin Name

The administrator user name of the domain to which the computer is to be joined.

This parameter is displayed only if the option to join a domain is selected.

Domain Admin Password

The administrator password of the domain to which the computer is to be joined.

This parameter is displayed only if the option to join a domain is selected.

Workgroup

The workgroup to which the computer is to be joined.

This parameter is not displayed if the option to join a domain is selected.

Admin Password

 

The existing Administrator password for the computer.

IP configuration

This parameter can be set to one of the following options:

  • DHCP: The computer uses dynamic IP addresses

  • Static: The computer uses a static IP address

 

Subnet mask

Sets the subnet mask.

 

IP gateway(s)

 

Sets a IP gateway address.

 

Advanced TCP/IP settings

Setting this option to Yes displays the advanced TCP/IP options.

DNS servers (IP)

 

Sets the IP address for the DNS server.

 

DNS suffix for this connection

Sets the DNS suffix for this connection in the Windows Advanced TCP/IP settings.

Append these DNS suffixes

Appends the listed DNS suffixes for this connection in the Windows Advanced TCP/IP settings.

WINS servers (IP)

 

Sets the Windows Internet Naming Service (WINS) server address.

Enable LMHosts Lookup

Enables LMHosts Lookup in the Windows Advanced TCP/IP settings.

NetBIOS options

This parameter can be set to one of the following options:

  • Use NetBIOS setting from the DHCP server

  • Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP

  • Disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP

Image Source

 

This parameter is relevant if you are restoring a server. It can be set to one of the following options:

  • Windows Client PC: The image does not contain a server operating system.

  • Windows Server: The image does contain a server operating system.

License Type

 

The way in which the server operating system in the image file is licensed. This parameter can be set to one of the following options:

  • per Client

  • per Server

This parameter is displayed only if the Image Source parameter is set to Windows Server.

Screen resolution

 

This parameter sets the screen resolution of the target computer.

Color palette

 

This parameter sets the color settings for the monitor of the target computer.

Screen refresh rate in Hz

This parameter sets the screen refresh rate of the target computer.

Define regional settings

This parameter sets the regional settings of the target computer.

Time zone

This parameter sets the time zone of the target computer.

Note: It is important this is not set to a time that is ahead of the server.
